Raising large Catholic families

Whereas God instructs his children to go forth and multiply, the modern world teaches that it is a sin to procreate. Humans cause global warming, pollute the environment, and cause all other sorts of problems for “Mother Earth.” Hedonistic Europe may buy into this nonsense, but Catholics true to the faith realize that having large families is a blessing from our Father above. In this episode of Trad Dad Roundtable, Ted Webber Jr. shares with hosts Mike Austin and Tim Meinholz his experience raising 8 children. What are the challenges? What is most rewarding? American Catholics or Catholic Americans?

A 2015 Pew Research poll found, among other things, that 1 in 4 Catholics living in the United States have experienced a divorce. 4 in 10 have at some point cohabited with a member of the opposite sex, something 85% of Catholics think is acceptable. The study also showed that 66% of Catholics do not believe it is a sin to use contraceptives, and that half of U.S. Catholics support “gay marriage.” Please follow and like us:

Don’t stop now

As world elites moan and groan over the UK’s departure from the European Union, Catholics should remind themselves (and others) that the current international order is one that has been created solely by the work of human hands. It is nothing more than a straw hut built on quicksand. John 15:5: “I am the vine, you the branches. Without me you can do nothing.” Please follow and like us:

Sheen against the Council

Earlier this week, relatives of Bp. Fulton Sheen asked for his remains to be moved from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York to Peoria, Illinois, the diocese in which he was ordained. The Archdiocese of New York, according to reports, is expected to comply with the request. This matters because once Sheen’s body arrives in Illinois, his cause for canonization is expected to proceed. The Council Fathers speak – Part 2

It should be clear to all who have read Part 1 of this essay that many of the leading voices at the Second Vatican Council did not intend to hand down the traditions given to them. They preferred to take it upon themselves to significantly alter, under the guise of making the Catholic faith understandable to modern man, the “pastoral” approaches of Holy Mother Church. Another failed Fortnight

From June 21st until July 4th, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will hold yet another “Fortnight for Freedom” event. 2016 marks, I believe, the fifth year the USCCB has decided to conduct this pathetic affair. The theme of this year’s Fortnight is “Witness to Freedom.” Please follow and like us:

The United Nations is at war with Catholicism

The Hunger Games is an extremely popular movie franchise about a dystopian (what else?) society where a powerful central government known as The Capitol controls – psychologically, economically, politically and culturally – the 13 “districts” that comprise the country of Panem. Every year a “Hunger Games” takes place. The games are a fight to the death with children from the districts and are punishment for an uprising against The Capitol that took place in the not so distant past. Please follow and like us:
